Handcrafted recycled silver and copper nature inspired jewellery for everyday wear

About Naomi Brookes Designs…

I am a conservationist turned jeweller transforming natural found items such as leaves and flowers into gorgeous silver and copper jewellery.

I use a clay based recycled silver and copper called Precious Metal Clay which allows me to capture all of the detail of the original natural item through the process of making the piece. I burn the moulded clay items in a kiln at nearly 1000 degrees transforming pieces into either fine silver or pure copper – which feels a little like magic!

The clay itself is made from recycled silver and copper from old industrial equipment and I love the way I can turn this into something beautiful.

I make a range of items to suit all budgets from stud earrings, drop earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, cuffs and even cufflinks and keyrings. I also have a small range of trinket dishes available which are made from larger leaves and modelled in copper. These are ideal for keeping your earrings safe!

Sustainability is at the heart of my business – recycled silver and copper, jewellery packaging which is recycled and recyclable, business cards are printed on recycled cotton paper stock, no plastic is used in packaging and I work to ensure use of only ethical gemstones. I love sharing the stories behind each piece and about the plants, shells, seeds, flowers and fossils that make up the jewellery as a way of bringing a moment of natural calm into people’s busy lives.

I am inspired by the varied countryside of Devon and find plenty of beautiful leaves, flowers and shells from my walks across the county to inspire me and make into unique pieces of jewellery. I also grow things in my garden specifically to turn into jewellery.

I take commissions if you have a specific natural item that you would like turned into jewellery – I love making something of special meaning for someone. I also run silver jewellery making workshops in Sidmouth and Colyton.
