TACA – Teign Angling & Conservation Association

Showcasing the work being undertaken to protect, restore and improve the River Teign Catchment.

About the TACA…

The Teign Angling & Conservation Association (TACA) stall will showcase the work being undertaken to protect, restore and improve the River Teign Catchment.

Founded by anglers and driven by volunteers, TACA works alongside landowners, local communities and conservation partners to improve river habitats and support the wildlife that depends upon them. Atlantic salmon and sea trout are at the heart of our conservation work, with these iconic migratory fish providing powerful indicators of the health of our rivers.

Our stand will feature a professionally branded gazebo and displays introducing visitors to TACA, the challenges facing the River Teign and the practical conservation work taking place across the catchment. Through photographs, maps and project information, visitors will be able to discover our river restoration work, Riverfly and citizen science monitoring, habitat improvement, natural flood management, fish passage projects and volunteer conservation activities.

A key theme of the display will be Protect. Restore. Inspire., demonstrating how monitoring and evidence can lead to practical action while encouraging more people to become involved in caring for their local rivers.

Our volunteers will be on hand throughout the event to talk about the River Teign, its Atlantic salmon and sea trout, conservation projects and opportunities to get involved. Visitors will also be able to find out about volunteering, becoming a TACA member, supporting projects, subscribing to our updates or donating to our conservation work.

Above all, we want the stall to be welcoming, interesting and interactive – somewhere people can stop, talk about the river and discover how they can help us build a healthier River Teign Catchment for future generations.
