Sarah Vourda Enamels
Enamel Creature Jewellery
About Sarah Vourda Enamels…
Using traditional cloisonne combined with miniature enamel painting techniques I create animals, people and things in-between. I find inspiration in the local wildlife I see in my garden and the surrounding area but also find big cats and imaginary creatures irresistible.
I am self-taught and have been working in enamel for 15 years. In order to minimise my impact on the environment I try and use UK manufactured enamel where possible as well as recycled or scrap copper silver and gold. Using a gas torch is more efficient than a kiln and keeps energy consumption to a minimum and it is now my preferred method of firing enamel.
I work out of my home studio in Torquay and also for South Devon College as an Evening-class tutor in silver jewellery and enamelling.
Member of Make Southwest
