Lustleigh Archives – preserving Willmead Farm Documents.

The Archives of Lustleigh, located in the Old Vestry, provides an important insight into the development of a village situated on the edge of Dartmoor.

Willmead is one of the oldest farms in the parish of Lustleigh, dating back to the 14th century. The Lustleigh Community Archive, which is managed by the Lustleigh Society has been given 49 original documents dating back to 1762.  These include indentures, conveyances and wills and, as such is an extremely important collection.

In order to increase accessibility to them and to preserve them, it is important that these documents are digitised to ensure that the information contained in them remains available.

The Lustleigh Show is proud to have provided funds towards this project.
